My name is Jillian Gillespie, and I am ecstatic to be your 5th grade teacher. This will be my first year working at St. Philip’s and 11th year working in education. I’m a values-driven educator who holds empathy and integrity in high regard. I continuously strive to create a classroom culture that fosters creativity, inspires civic engagement, and encourages all to find JOY.
I hold an Advanced Certificate in Educational Leadership from UCONN and an MA in Elementary Education from Sacred Heart University. My experience in education ranges from Classroom Teacher to Head of School. As we navigate the new course set for education post-pandemic, I look forward to getting back into the classroom to help reconstruct foundational educational experiences for our scholars.
My hope for this year is that our school and global community approach this school year with a renewed assurance that together, with God, we can overcome any obstacle.
“For God hath not given us a spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
-2 Timothy 1:7
